Airport Security

It was inevitable. CBS news in Chicago is reporting on various TSA screening incidents such as women being forced to remove nipple rings in public. They will continue to do this until someone stops them.
Oh, and I told you so.

General Clark makes true statement, idiots attack

General Clark stated that McCain was inexperienced in executive responsibility. Transcript of interview here. His words are apparently being twisted for McCain’s campaign. He has been said to call “into question, in surprisingly sharp language, Sen. John McCain’s military record.” Dole states that the comments were “beyond comprehension.” He is called a “putz” by an ignorant broadcaster and odious by other people. Perhaps lies sell, because the IHT also states that McCain was “assailed by a fellow military man.”
What utter nonsense. Clark does not call into question McCain’s military service (though I would). He does not “diss” (a word every professional should use) McCain. He praises McCain’s military record, and yet, he is still blasted for making “bogus attacks.” I never thought Republicans could be so ignorant of actually truth. Yes, I can say that, because clearly, they have not read the transcript of the interview or they choose to believe a lie about what Clark said. Ridiculous.

Revisionist History Strikes Again

The latest issue of time magazine ran an article about how the next President should handle our economic issues. Instead of accurately attributing the current economic crisis on the Clinton and Bush Sr & Jr years, they aim it at Reagan and say that we need more regulation and higher taxes. No! That is what got us here. That and diluting our currency, which the socialist Democrats want, and what this magazine apparently wants.

Plate: Let’s lay down our right to bear arms

Tom Plate’s commentary on guns is a real eye-opener. It shows that Tom Plate is ruled by his feelings.

Tom Plate feels that it is not people that kill people, but guns that do. He points out that in the Virginia Tech shootings, it is irrelevant that the killer was South Korean. It was the gun that killed them. I disagree. If you wish to be technical as he attempts to be in his article, it was really the blood leaving the bodies of the victims that killed them. If blood did not flow so much, maybe less would have been killed. Note to self: lobby to ban free-flowing blood.

Personal Hurricane Responsibility

Pensacola News Journal ran an article on the front page the on Thursday about how Florida residents need to be responsible during a hurricane, and stop relying on the government. This is critical for Florida to be able to quickly rebound from a destructive hurricane. People have grown accustomed to the government doing too much for them. Before a hurricane, we should be stocking up on bottled water and food, and not rely on the government to give it to us. This will allow the government to work on other tasks, rather than baby-sitting and feeding adults. With the government free from the unnecessary burden of feeding the populace, it can use the money to help rebuild damaged areas.
