The trouble with E Ink newspapers

Tech-On! reports that E Ink newspapers will start being sold late this year. The idea is to have a dynamic newspaper for people to read. I can’t help thinking that we are just making the job of the Ministry of Truth a little easier than it used to be. Before, old newspapers with “faulty” information had to be destroyed to make way for the new newspapers. Now, they can just be updated as needed.

General Clark makes true statement, idiots attack

General Clark stated that McCain was inexperienced in executive responsibility. Transcript of interview here. His words are apparently being twisted for McCain’s campaign. He has been said to call “into question, in surprisingly sharp language, Sen. John McCain’s military record.” Dole states that the comments were “beyond comprehension.” He is called a “putz” by an ignorant broadcaster and odious by other people. Perhaps lies sell, because the IHT also states that McCain was “assailed by a fellow military man.”
What utter nonsense. Clark does not call into question McCain’s military service (though I would). He does not “diss” (a word every professional should use) McCain. He praises McCain’s military record, and yet, he is still blasted for making “bogus attacks.” I never thought Republicans could be so ignorant of actually truth. Yes, I can say that, because clearly, they have not read the transcript of the interview or they choose to believe a lie about what Clark said. Ridiculous.

Revisionist History Strikes Again

The latest issue of time magazine ran an article about how the next President should handle our economic issues. Instead of accurately attributing the current economic crisis on the Clinton and Bush Sr & Jr years, they aim it at Reagan and say that we need more regulation and higher taxes. No! That is what got us here. That and diluting our currency, which the socialist Democrats want, and what this magazine apparently wants.

Government to Monitor all Transactions

Bill HR 3221, once passed, will allow the government to monitor all electronic purchases. That, coupled with an upcoming cashless society means that no transaction will be hidden from the government. I can already hear people stating, “But I have nothing to hide!”
Neither did this firefighter:

In a headline-making case from August of 2004, Philip Scott Lyons, a firefighter from Everett, Washington, was arrested and accused of arson after a police canine unit sniffed out a fire starter unit hidden in his home with a Safeway label attached. Safeway provided the Lyons’ purchasing history to the police, revealing that they did buy the fire starter a month earlier.

Treasured New York skyscrapers may be sold to foreign funds

Divide and conquer. The fall of the US dollar has caused other nations (Arab and Oriental) to purchase large amounts of properties in the US. What would happen if one of these countries felt the need to protect an investment? Perhaps they would do what we would do.
