Police block Sec­tion of NH 10

Accord­ing to local accounts, Police in the Swanzey, NH area pulled over a dri­ver who responded vio­lently, injur­ing one offi­cer. The offi­cer then shot and killed the dri­ver. Accord­ing to the Union Leader (http://bit.ly/1C2B00), the inci­dent was drug related, but some details are con­tra­dic­tory and sketchy at the moment.

Police at the scene would not com­ment, but only said there would be more infor­ma­tion in the morn­ing, and that no civil­ians were allowed in the .8 mile stretch of Route 10. Route 10 was block from as early as 8pm Sat­ur­day evening, from Kemp­ton Road through the South end of West­port Vil­lage Road, in West­port NH. A few cars were seen attempt­ing to travel through the closed off area, but were detoured by the police.

Locals also noted that Police respond­ing to the scene were dri­ving fast and reck­lessly, nearly col­lid­ing with a pickup truck.
