Leaving his trial, Sam was stopped by the Keene Police, who were apparently following him out, and arrested for driving with a suspended license. Keene Police Lt Maxfield apparently told Lt. Thomas that Sams license had just recently been suspended. So recently that Sam has not received any notice of his license being suspended. Video was streamed live and recorded by other activists who ran from a nearby restaurant after hearing of Sams arrest. More video available at freekeene.com.

Patrick Shields was found guilty of resisting arrest this morning at his trial at Keene District Court. Judge Burke, announcing his judgement told Shields that, while he did do a good job representing himself in court, he was still found guilty of the charge resisting arrest. Burke also changed the prosecutors recommended sentence of a $250 fine to a $1,000 fine, but suspended it for a year.
The trial started at 10:15 this morning, and ended at 11:00. Shields testified that, after talking to a reporter in the City Hall second floor lobby, he did not leave because police were already blocking the door; his only option was to do nothing, and drop to the floor. The prosecution maintained that by doing nothing, Shields resisted arrest — the only charge he was tried for.
