Recent changes, and I ran out!

To those of you who have donated within the past 48 hours, I ran out of email accounts. I am trying to get the server upgraded with more so I can create more accounts, and am awaiting a response from the admins.

Also, I am trying to create a real solution to the “need to use the Bible offline” problem, but the toolchain to compile iPhone applications does not work yet. If anyone has an Intel Mac with a working toolchain installed, and does not mind compiling code, please let me know. If anyone knows of a way to compile directly on the iPhone, please enlighten me! That would be my ideal solution!

The Bible. On your iPhone. Offline.

I have been using the Bible on my iPhone without internet access for some time, and have gotten the text to a re-distributable point. It uses mail, and an IMAP account that I set up with the texts. I am creating accounts on the server for people wanting to use the iPhone Bible offline. My host understandably offers a limited amount of email addresses, so am asking that a donation be made when requesting an account. This will allow me to get more email addresses when I am out of accounts.
update: I am no longer able to provide accounts; the main reason being that the new iPhone firmware causes issues with IMAP accounts. I am working on a native application though, and it will be released shortly after the SDK is released.

We need another 9/11

This article by Stu Bykofsky initially seems quite cruel. Why would anyone think such wicked thoughts? Maybe its for our own good. Unfortunately, for much of this article, Bykofsky is right. We, as Americans, have been so short-sighted and impatient. Americans need some entertainment, anywhere it can be found. We do not want to stick around to see how something ends. Is the way the war is proceeding the Presidents fault? No. It is our fault.

Another iPhone Bible update

I spent the day getting the Bible on the iPhone for off-line use, so the iPhone Bible did not get much updating today. It’s not an ideal method, but it does work, and it was done on time for church tomorrow.

iPhone Bible Bug Fixes

Several fixes were made to the iPhone Bible today. Mostly fixing annoyances. What should be fixed is the following:

  • Pages more consistently scroll to hide the address bar.
  • The page that has the chapter text should no longer be ultra-wide, and it should rotate appropriately.

Again, if you are using this program and find any bugs or things that need to be changed, please let me know.
