New Changes to iPhone Bible
I have spent the weekend making the following minor changes to iPhone Bible:
- When you press on a titlebar button, the text enlarges to provide feedback.
- No more brackets! Text that has been inserted is now italicized. Thank God for RegEx.
- Bug: The Search Page is no longer zoomed out on the iPhone. Thanks to Michael Erickson for pointing this out!
- The Eternity page has been updated visually.
- Bug: The search page no longer returns errors when searching for an empty string. It now does nothing when you try to search for an empty string.
- Fixed links in about page.
Todo:
- Fix the title of numbered books in the chapter list. (currently shows as 1, 2).
iPhone Bible Update
I have removed the old version of iPhone Bible. It took up way to much space on the server, and was inefficient (as flat files can be). The new iPhone Bible It sports a new look, and is database driven. More details inside.
Change Log:
- Based on Olsa Database by Chipper Farley.
- New leather look.
- Change in method for hyperlinking to verses. Breaks old method. See here for the new way to link.
- You can now search the scriptures!
- Entire verse highlights when it has been linked to, or searched for.
- Going from a book to a book list will mark the book you came from by italicizing it and changing the color to a dark red
New Interface for iPhone Bible
Much of my silence this past week has been due to me creating a new interface for iPhone Bible. You can see it on the beta section. It has a new search feature that I pulled from the Olsa project, and a new theme. There is also support for other Bible versions, but right now there is only the KJV. I also changed the theme. The method of linking to verses has changed also. Now it follows this format:
iphone.clearsight.org/Beta/go.php?g=book chapter:verse
ex: iphone.clearsight.org/Beta/go.php?g=John 3:16
I hope this makes it easier for most. It is online now, so go try it out, and let me know what you think! In a few weeks, it will replace the current version.
Welcome to the Evening News, Check your Brain in at the Door
This article by the Washington Post on the recent explosion in New York City is passive compared to what I have seen on the Pensacola News about it. In the few days after the explosion, news anchors beat their terrorism drums continually. What if it was a terrorist act? Would we have been ready? What would we have done differently if it was a terrorist attack? What if the cloud of steam was a terrorist? Rubbish.
iPhone Bible .9
I have uploaded the working version of iPhone Bible. You should be able to read all books without problem. If you have issues on your iPhone, please let me know. I do not have an iPhone to test this on, so please be detailed. I plan on adding a “jump to passage” option, and other Bible versions, like the Geneva, or other languages. If you have a feature request, please let me know.
