microsoft licensing woes

Well, I tried to install XP Pro on a friends laptop, but, unlike XP home, the license seems to be tied down to the CD, or batch of CD’s. The laptop I was installing XP Pro on had a valid license, but no CD. Actually, it did have a CD, but the CD was scratched, and after getting to a certain point in the installation, it would no longer be able to copy files. So, I used an OEM CD on it. However, when I typed in the key for the laptop, the key was rejected.

“Never mind that,” and used a temporary key, and planned to change it later.

4 down

I have decided to stop ignoring every piece of spam I receive. From now on, every time I get mail from some malicious evil phisher of doom, I shall do the following:

  • Mess with their heads
  • Report them

I am tired of hearing people tell me that they have fallen for this stuff, and I will do something about it. If I don’t, then I am being apathetic, right?

ADD

The more people I deal with that have ADD and ADHD, the more I am inclined to believe that it does not exist.
